London, United Kingdom – Sep, 2025 – SolMining, a UK-based cloud mining platform focused on sustainable energy, today announced plans to invest $20 million in the construction of a new large-scale mining facility in Ethiopia. The project is scheduled to begin construction in early 2026 and is expected to be operational by 2027.
The new mining site will leverage Ethiopia’s abundant hydropower and solar resources, with more than 90% of its energy supply projected to come from renewable sources. The facility is designed with energy-efficient cooling systems and scalable infrastructure to support multiple cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), XRP, Dogecoin (DOGE), and Solana (SOL).
“This investment marks a major step in SolMining’s global expansion strategy. Ethiopia’s rich renewable energy resources and favorable investment environment make it the ideal location for our next-generation mining facility,” said SHVANDER, Oleg, CEO of SolMining.
The project is also expected to create more than 500 local jobs and foster partnerships with local institutions to promote blockchain education and skills development.
With this investment, SolMining aims to triple its global computing power capacity over the next three years, strengthening its role as a leader in green cloud mining infrastructure.
